The research carried out by the group is aimed at investigating the potential of construction techniques and materials for improving the built environment in the Amazon, as long as they are designed from the perspective of the region's reality, making it more sustainable and efficient from the thermal, lighting, acoustic, energy, economic, environmental, functional, structural and durability points of view. The aim is to use local raw materials, whether renewable or derived from waste, to manufacture materials and construction systems that meet not only technical but also socioeconomic demands, improving existing production chains and contributing to the creation of new ones that have the capacity to assimilate local populations within their cultural characteristics.
